Tables and Chairs

Tables and chairs must, at all times, be confined within the trading zone (the space between the pedestrian zone and the kerb zone).

Furniture must be well maintained by the business owner, be of sturdy construction, easy to remove from the footpath, and its design and use must not cause damage to the existing footpath or other public infrastructure. The council must approve all furniture before it may be used.

The number of tables and chairs permitted on the footpath is determined by the Design Standards, and the location of furniture is determined by the Management Standards outlined in the Footpath Trading Guidelines.

Apply for a Footpath Trading Permit for Tables and Chairs.
