Port Phillip Economic Development Strategy

Have Your Say!

The City of Port Phillip is currently developing a new Economic Development Strategy to guide the direction of council’s Economic Development Unit.

The Strategy will be the key guiding document to lead economic development and tourism activity over the next 5 years, and will provide:

         a review of the current economic development and tourism strategies;
         a better understanding of Port Phillip's economic, employment and tourism profile
         identifing emerging industries and opportunities within the current economic climate;
         tailored initiatives  to foster and enhance economic development employment and responsible tourism;
         methods of evaluating and monitoring the local economy over time.

To ensure that the new Economic Development Strategy meets the needs of the local business community we want to hear from you!

Please take our short Economic Development Strategy consultation survey and let us know what you think should be priority areas of focus for the Strategy, and any ideas you may have as to how council can support business in Port Phillip.

It is anticipated that a Draft Ecoomic Development Strategy will be completed and comment invited late 2010.
For further information on the Strategy development , and how you can be involved, please contact Steve Waugh, Coordinator Economic Development via phone - 9209 6636 or via email - swaugh@portphillip.vic.gov.au.
