Currently a Climate Change Marketing Consultant and principal of CarbonCredited™Brands, Michael Kiely was Managing Director of Boomerang Integrated Marketing and Advertising and Managing Director of Professional Interactive Media Management. Michael has been editor and executive editor of Marketing magazine and is still a regular columnist for the publication.
Michael has won 10 Echo awards from the US Direct Marketing Association; awards from the Chicago Direct Marketing Association and Australian Direct Marketing Association; and is a three-time winner of the David Ogilvy Award.
He was a National Director and the Chairman of the State Branch of the Australian Direct Marketing Association for 6 years and was inducted into the Australian Direct Marketing Hall of Fame in 2001.
Before writing marketing features for The Australian Financial Review, Michael taught at the University of New England and Charles Sturt University. He served as creative director of the Sydney office of the world’s leading direct response marketing agency Ogilvy & Mather Direct for 6 years, with clients including American Express, Toyota, Xerox Australia, Hyatt International, British Tourist Authority, and the AMP Society.
Holding both the Certificate and Diploma of Direct Marketing from the Australian Direct Marketing Association (ADMA), Michael is a regular conference speaker, a lecturer and workshop facilitator for the Australian Graduate School of Management (UNSW), the Institute of Administration (UNSW) and the Macquarie Graduate School of Management.
Michael is also a former lecturer in the Certificate in Direct Marketing Course, conducted by ADMA. He has been a judge for many marketing awards programs and a regular commentator on ABC Radio on Marketing issues. Television appearances have included the 7:30 Report, TVTV and Hot Chips on ABC ABC TV, Today Tonight, and Hard Copy on Channel 7 and The Today Show on Channel 9.
